The Aston Martin DBX is one of the fans’ favorite high-end SUVs, combining luxury and performance. But Aston Martin doesn’t think that power is enough, and on Tuesday revealed the name of the DBX707 aston Martin crossover. The DBX707 uses the twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine of the regular DBX and is optimized. The AMG-derived engine features a new turbocharger and unique calibration and adjustment for a total output of 697 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 155 horsepower and 147 pound-feet over the standard car. This makes the DBX707 more powerful than any Mercedes model using the engine, except for the AMG GT series. The upgraded engine is paired with a new nine-speed wet-clutch automatic transmission, replacing the regular DBX’s nine-speed automatic transmission, which is necessary to provide the DBX707 with higher torque, faster, more aggressive gear changes and a smoother ride than the old gearbox. The DBX707 can accelerate to 100 kilometers in 3.1 seconds, nearly 1.5 seconds faster than the standard DBX.Carbon ceramic brakes are standard with 6 piston calipers and rotor dimensions 16.5 in front and 15.4 in rear. The new brakes are 89 pounds lighter, and the booster has been retooled for a better pedal experience, something the standard DBX lacks.22-inch wheels are standard and 23-inch wheels are optional, both with Pirelli P Zero summer tires. The DBX707 also features an improved electronic limited slip rear differential, a new damping valve and adaptive air suspension, an updated 48-volt anti-roll system and improved electric power steering for an even better experience. The CEO said Aston will challenge the Nurburgring SUV record held by Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT.Aston can’t just give the DBX more power, the DBX707 has a number of styling changes. There’s a bigger grille at the front, new air intakes on the sides with LED running lights for improved cooling, different hood vents, new lip spoiler at the top and a great redesign of the diffuser with quad vents and more vents. The DBX707 also has plenty of shiny black and chrome trim, but the carbon fiber exterior is optional.Still, the DBX707 doesn’t have a new infotainment system, or even a touchscreen, and Aston says DBX’s brand-specific infotainment system is still getting upgrades soon, as well as some nice interior tweaks. The car has a redesigned center console and drive mode options, so the driver no longer needs to change mode through the screen, as well as a button system for active exhaust, gearbox, standard 360-degree camera, air suspension and start/stop functions. The DBX707 also comes with 16-way sport seats, a number of Alcantara interior options, a new color scheme, and dark chrome switch gear. The DBX707 will be available alongside the standard DBX in the second quarter of 2022.Its starting price (excluding any taxes and fees) is 1.5 million yuan, about 300,000 yuan more than a typical SUV.Aston says it could account for 60 percent of DBX’s total sales, which is expected for at least the next few years, until plug-in hybrid models arrive.
